Lisa has been painting for as long as she can remember. What began as a natural instinct in childhood slowly became a necessity. After the loss of her father, painting turned into a way of processing grief — a space to breathe, to stay grounded, to keep going.

During the COVID years, she made the conscious decision to fully commit to her art. What had always been present revealed itself as healing. Creating became unavoidable — a deep inner knowing that painting is not simply something she does, but something she has to do.

Lisa is entirely self-taught. Her father shaped her way of seeing and encouraged her early connection to art, while influences such as her cousin Mike Dargas contributed to her understanding of realism and discipline. Yet her current body of work is deeply personal and intuitive, emerging from within rather than following technique alone.

Her works explore themes of desire, inner conflict, temptation, vulnerability, and human duality. Within these darker emotional landscapes, Lisa often introduces reflective, holographic or metallic elements — painting on shiny foils or incorporating light-reactive surfaces. These luminous details are intentional: moments of tension, contrast, and reflection, where beauty and darkness coexist.

For Lisa, shine is not decoration, but symbolism — a way to capture fragility, longing, and the shifting nature of perception. Her paintings are meant to be felt rather than explained, offering viewers a space to pause, reflect, and connect.

Painting remains her anchor — a grounding force, a language beyond words, and a quiet reminder that even in darkness, something can still catch the light.
